The Woodstock Invitational - October 24th & 25th, 2009
Posted: 10/13/09 at 10:29AM
Please join us as we will have several handmade Babicz Signature Series acoustic guitars on display.

From 11:00AM to 6:00PM at the Bearsville Theater, 291 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY.

Promoting the art of lutherie, The Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase is a low-key, laid-back event for the community of acoustic stringed-instrument builders, players, collectors and aficionados. Fine, handmade acoustic instruments are not usually available in music stores or other retail environments. This will be a rare opportunity for the public to see, hear, play, buy or commission custom-made instruments - the finest examples of the luthiers’ art - gathered together in one place. Meet the builders, discuss custom instruments, and hear some fine music. Classical and steel-string guitars - flattops, archtops, manouche and hybrids - plus mandolins, banjoes, violin and bowmakers, lutes, ouds, and ukuleles. Other vendors will include wood, parts and tool suppliers, string and accessories manufacturers, publications and instructional materials.

There will be live music, demos and performances throughout both days, by some of the region’s finest musicians, plus an exhibit of rare and significant historic, vintage and contemporary instruments loaned by major collectors. There are plans for an associated concert of acoustic music featuring some of the Woodstock area’s famous musicians, singers and songwriters.

Tickets: ONLY $10.00

The new Babicz Design 'Full Contact Hardware’, at Summer NAMM, booth # 240
Posted: 07/06/09 at 11:35AM
Exclusive Showing....Full Contact Hardware.....Summer NAMM, Nashville, booth # 240 The new Babicz Design 'Full Contact Hardware’ available this summer!
The advantage with the new Babicz Full Contact Hardware (FCH) system lies within the Full Contact Saddle itself. Traditionally guitars have only used two small set screws to set the saddle and string height. This robs the guitar of vital sustain and tone transmission to the body. The new Babicz FCH system uses the equivalent of over 50 contact points between the string and the body on each saddle...resulting in over 300 times the transference.

Along with the dramatic tonal enhancements, the Babicz FCH offers substantial performance improvements. With the patent pending Babicz “eCAM” technology, string action height is quickly and easily set to any playing preference while the Full Contact Saddles make direct contact to the body.

There is no loss of transference between string and body, even as string height and intonation adjustments are made.

KMC Music and Reliance International Corporation have teamed up to launch the global distribution of the new Full Contact Hardware by Babicz Guitars. The product, originally introduced at the NAMM Show, is an entirely new bridge saddle system for solid body electric guitars and basses. Through the strategic alliance of Babicz, KMC Music and Reliance, the patent-pending technology will also be available for license for aftermarket and OEM products. The 'Full Contact Hardware' system offers “full contact” between the vibrating string and the body of the instrument. Air gaps and spaces under the saddle are eliminated and over 50 x more contact surface per saddle is maintained. Conventional string height action adjustment set screws are eliminated. Tone and sustain is dramatically improved and never compromises the ability to set action and intonation preferences.

The Babicz Full Contact Hardware will be on exhibit at the Reliance International/Dixon Hardware booth at the upcoming Frankfurt Musik Messe, April 1st through April 4th, in Hall 3.0, Stand # C31

KMC Music is the largest independent distributor of musical instruments and accessories in the United States and a major producer of guitars and guitar parts and accessories.
